ARVO Mathematical and Computational Ophthalmology SIG
We’re pleased to announce an ARVO Special Interest Group (SIG) on Mathematical and Computational Ophthalmology, to be held via Zoom on Tuesday 24th June from 9:00am-10:30am EST/EDT (= 2:00pm-3:30pm BST).
The aim of the SIG is to bring together clinicians, experimentalists and quantitative scientists, to discuss the current state of the field, and the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
This SIG will consist of 3 brief talks, followed by a time of structured discussion led by Dr. Paul Roberts and Dr. Peter Woodward-Court.
The talks are as follows:
Prof. Peter Stewart – Challenges in modelling the choroidal circulation
Dr. Yukun Zhou – The robustness of vision-language models to medical image artefacts
Dr. Justin Engelmann – A gentle introduction to foundation models and vector embeddings for retinal imaging
