The Society for Mathematical Biology provides grants to support member-organized meetings on mathematical biology, to support members to attend to courses and mathematical biology meetings, and to support member organized meetings in countries experiencing financial need. Individuals or meeting organizers can only receive an award a maximum of two times within a five year period (starting from the date of the 1st award).
The Society maintains a fund to support scientific meetings organized by its members. The Board of Directors provides grants of up to $2,000 to promote and facilitate the organization of and attendance at mathematical biology meetings and courses. The Board of Directors provides grants of up to $5,000 to promote and facilitate the organization of and attendance at mathematical biology meetings and courses in countries experiencing financial need. Funds are provided for workshops and meetings organized by current Society members, which are held in countries in need or in nearby countries where organizers will use the funds to help students from countries in need attend the meeting. Our Outreach Fund provides financial support to individuals and organizations in order to enable them to run a mathematical biology-based events and activities for public audiences at science festivals and other venues. The Society is currently participating in the USA Science & Engineering Festival. Through the fund we can support our members to engage with different audiences and provide people with an entry point into mathematical biology.
