We are seeking a talented, creative, and friendly individual to join our interdisciplinary team. We formulate physics-style mathematical theories to understand the remarkable processes that allow single-cell embryos to develop into complex animal forms. In this project, you will adapt tools from non-linear dynamical systems theory, machine learning, and non-equilibrium physics to understand how biological patterns self-organize during embryonic development.

For further details of the group, please see my lab website: https://twhiscock.github.io/. For further details of the project, please see the project link:https://www.findaphd.com/phds/project/eastbio-mathematical-theories-for-pattern-formation-in-developing-embryos/?p161654

If you are interested in applying or want to learn more about the opportunity, please send me an email: Tom Hiscock, thomas.hiscock@abdn.ac.uk, University of Aberdeen
