The Nominations Committee of the Society for Mathematical Biology (SMB) is currently seeking nominations for election to the roles of President-Elect and Board-Member-at-Large (three positions). Candidates should be SMB members in good standing. Successful candidates will take office at the business meeting of the SMB Annual Meeting in 2022.

Governance. The Board of Directors is composed of the President, the President-Elect or Past-President, six Members-at-Large, and the Chairs of the Finance Committee and Membership Committee ex officio. Three Members-at-Large are to be elected by the voting membership of the Society in 2022, to serve for a term of four years. The President-Elect, also to be elected by the voting membership, will serve one year as such followed by two years as President, concluding with a fourth year as Immediate-Past-President and Vice-President.

Role. The Board of Directors is responsible for the fulfillment of the scientific and business obligations of the Society for Mathematical Biology. Typically, each board member will chair at least one Society committee, attend monthly board meetings, and attend the Annual Meeting of the Society. They should be prepared to commit approximately three working days per month to Society business. The President-Elect should ideally have experience in Society leadership positions. The President of the SMB may expect to commit one day a week to Society business.

Nomination material. Those interested in standing for election should send a two-page Curriculum Vitae and a 300-word supporting statement, detailing relevant experience and their vision for the role, to the Chair of the Nominations Committee (nominations@smb.org) by January 31st 2022.

For informal discussions and / or more detailed information regarding either of the roles please contact either the current President (Heiko Enderling), the Chair of the Nominations Committee (Ruth Baker) or any member of the Board of Directors.
