    Dear Colleagues,

We hope you and your loved ones are all doing well during this very difficult time.

Mathematical Biosciences (MBS) is publishing a special issue dedicated to research on COVID-19, and we will like you to invite you (and your group) to consider submitting an article for consideration in the special issue.

The virtual special issue, to be edited by Drs. Abba Gumel (Arizona State University) and Santiago Schnell (Editor-in-Chief of MBS), welcomes contributions on the use of mathematical, statistical and computational modeling approaches to provide deeper mechanistic insights into the transmission dynamics and control of SARS-CoV-2. Original research articles that provide realistic insights on effective real-time containment and mitigation strategies are especially welcome.

Submitted articles will be processed, peer-reviewed at very high standards, and published very rapidly, considering the immense time-sensitive nature of the problem being addressed. We think of this special issue as an avenue or platform for the global mathematical biology community to provide real-time contributions and solutions to the most important public health challenge of this generation.

We very much look forward to receiving your contributions. Please indicate on the cover letter of your submission that your manuscript should be considered for the COVID-19 special issue. For more information, please visit:

Please let us know if you need further information.

    Keep healthy, and stay safe.

    Yours faithfully,

Abba Gumel and Santiago Schnell (Guest Editors, COVID-19 special issue of Mathematical Biosciences)
