The position is advertised at http://web.ubc.ca/okanagan/facultystaff/recruitment.html and at http://www.universityaffairs.ca/careers/_current/_multi/_home.html. Opportunities for collaboration exist with SARAHS (the Centre for Species At Risk and Habitat Studies), and nearby with scientists at the Pacific Agri-Food Research Centre in Summerland and with scientists at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops. UBC Okanagan is part of the University of British Columbia, and is located in Kelowna in the heart of the Okanagan Valley in the interior of BC. Kelowna is half way between Calgary and Vancouver, and is linked through direct flights to both of those cities as well as Edmonton and Seattle. The valley population is about 100,000, and the recreation opportunities are diverse and easily accessible. UBC Okanagan opened just last summer (July 1st), and so this is an exciting time to be joining the institution. Please feel free to email me (Rebecca Tyson: rebecca.tyson@ubc.ca) if you have further questions.
