On-line Application for Membership

You can use this renewal process to pay on-line using a credit card, or you can opt to send a check by mail. We encourage you to use the on-line process either way as it will allow you to fill in your address accurately.

New Members: Please select the "Join the Society for the very first time" option on the first screen, and then follow the instructions to choose your username and password. These will be saved upon completion of your membership application.

Renewals: Renewals: If you are renewing your SMB membership, you are in the database and can use the "Renew your membership with the Society" option. Your username is the e-mail address you provided on your membership application last year. If you have forgotten your password, simply fill in your email in the "Forgot your login details" section and push "Send reset details". This will send you an automatically generated email with a link to login. If you did not provide an email or can’t remember what email address you used, you can either just opt to sign up as a new member or contact us (hgaff@odu.edu) for other options.

Paper Application for Membership

We encourage you to join the Society for Mathematical Biology. One attractive feature of SMB is that your membership (a well-spent $50 per year for a full member, a bargain at $25 per year for a student member) comes with a full subscription to the Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, a journal devoted to research at the interface of theoretical and experimental biology. (Phillip Maini is the Editor.)

Membership also entitles you to our newsletter and to reduced rates of subscription in other popular journals. Members also receive a discount on the Annual Meeting registration fee. Full members can vote in society elections and hold office in the society. Student members do not have voting rights, but they are invited to participate in all other society activities and to help shape the future of mathematical biology both here and in the broad international community.

SMB members may to apply for support for travel to SMB annual meetings or other professional meetings, or for organizing local meetings. SMB members may also participate in the Mentoring Program.
